Outstanding bridge book!

I've had this book for several months now, sitting on my coffee table, and have read it over and over. My only complaint is I wish it were 10 times longer! It is engagingly written, beautifully photographed. The writer strikes what for me was the right balance of history, aesthetics, and engineering. The only problem is the well-done writeups are just too short, leaving you wanting more. Still, very highly recommended.

I've read the series, and seriously this is the best series I've read in a long time! I was afraid this was the last book and I'm so happy it's not! Now to find out when the next one is out!! Highly recommend this to everyone!! I'm also reading Thomas Prescott series and loving it too!!

I've loved this series however even though this segment is longer it still was lacking in depth. I thought that too much time at the beginning was spent on the light hearted banter with the pets. The real "mystery" was too limited and not very believable. The previous book in the series left the reader with a much more serious "cloud" that begged to be explained. This book danced around the subject and never developed the previous story line further. Although I love the dialog with the cats, I'm really interested in the underlying story line with the "how" and "why" of the Bins family.

More meat please!

Awesome as always

Well I started the book at 6:08 am and now it is 8:56 am and I just finished it. Loved it. I kept trying to figure out who done it and doing my own little crime investigation. That to me makes a strong book. When you immerse yourself in it. I also wanted to be at the wedding and play with Archie. I have an Archie. But he just knocks down the TV remote off the nightstand early every morning. Breakfast time for him!

Anyway, I wish Nick's stories never ended. I enjoy them so much. The plot twists, the humor, which by the way is great and the characters all make for an enjoyable read. Nothing to heavy. Just pure enjoyment.

I only have one problem with these books. They end. And I have to wait spook long for the next one :(

So Nick , I have a favor to ask. WRITE FASTER!!

I LOVED this book. I've read the first 2 books already but did not mind reading them again as they are very good. Some of the stories are probably going to be finished in another book or several depending on what the author wants to do. I really don't like when this is done and usual do not buy the follow up book(s) but I am willing to purchase all the second books as that is how much I liked all the books in this grouping. Each author has their own reading style which makes this an even better deal. I highly recommend this book and hope that everyone that reads it loves it as much as
I do.

I received this boxed set as an ARC from Izzy Sweet. I had read two or three of stories before, but still enjoyed reading them again. These hot and sexy romance books were written by some of my favorite authors. All of the stories featured hot alpha step siblings. My only complaint is that some of the best were cliffhangers. It irks me when I have put my time and energy, or money into the stories to just stop cold. Thanks for writing these romance books.

I bought the first book in this series and got my local library to get this one for me. But after reading the stories in this volume and beholding the lovely pictures, I had to have it too.
I just love the Foxwood Tales! They are so cute and interesting, and the lovely pictures will delight both adult and child. I would highly reccomend these stories to anyone who is a fan of Betrix Potter, and it's my beliefe that if Beatrix was alive she too would be a fan of these adorable stories.

Well Researched, Very Informative, and Much Needed

Freedman covers feminists' and civil rights activists' attempts to broaden the definition of rape from the colonial era to the present day. As the author argues, who is protected by rape is largely linked to who is entitled to full citizenship. Women actively sought ways to have more control over their bodies, by advocating for women jurors, women police officers, as well as participated in grassroots activism to expand the definition of rape to include the act of seduction, the protection of young girls, and street harassment (called mashing at the time). She also has a chapter of the sexual vulnerability of boys, which emerged as our modern ideas of sexuality formed at the turn of the century, and with the arrival of new immigrants who were associated with sodomy. The bulk of the book covers the 1870s to the 1930s. She does, however, start in the colonial era and goes to the present day by demonstrating that our current debates over the meaning of rape is largely reflective of prior arguments.

Those interested in women's history and African American history will find this book as a great contribution to the politics of women's bodies. Social class and race were critical aspects in determining whether a woman's account of rape was believable, and often middle- and upper-middle class white men got off the hook by pointing out their accusers' prior sexual history (an issues that has not gone away). Those interested in women's history will also be interested in the chapter titled "Smashing the Masher," where she documents white and black women efforts to take on men who harassed them in the street. Reflective of modern-day defense class, some women advocated for women police officers, and some women took boxing lessons to defend themselves. This demonstrated women's rejection of male protection and embracement of self-reliance.

Regarding topics that I wished the author would had discussed: sexual violence beyond the black-white binary. She does not mention in detail about the struggle and advocacy of Latino and Asian women. Mexican women are mentioned, but not as a political force. The Mexican-American civil rights movement has its origins in the 1920s, and it makes the reader wonder if Mexican women were viewed as sexually available, and if so, did they resist. As for Asian women, since one-third of Chinese women immigrants were prostitutes, it does beg the question of what type of organizing, if any existed, emerged to challenge the position of Chinese women. This might, however, require examining sources written in Spanish and in various Asian languages. Although rape is a broad topic, and I did not expect the author to cover every form of rape, I did wonder what type of activism or concerns did people have regarding the emergence of women colleges. They appeared in the late 1800s, and girls on their own and away from their parents' supervision probably caused some social anxieties. Other than those two issues, the author accomplishes her goal by showing that the current culture war over the meaning of rape is a reoccurring theme in society. And as she states in the end, our struggle to define rape will continue so long as inequalities in race and gender continue to characterize American society. In our current times, this book is well needed.
