Don't waste your money - Buy "Striking Back" Instead.

I don't normally write reviews but I feel compelled to after reading this book. The book was written with the sole purpose of gathering a bunch of widely known information that is easily available on the internet and putting it in one place. In this case, it is a very short book that probably took a day to write. The author shows no expertise in the field and its obvious this was just a money grab. If the book was $1.00 then maybe it would be worth it but at its current price, its not worth it. I would recommend for anyone who is suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia to buy the book "Striking Back". It is not available in digital format but it is very comprehensive and it is considered the bible for people suffering from TN. Good Luck.

About the Author
Ann Wortinger, LVT, VTS (ECC), is the program coordinator for the Veterinary Technology Program at Wayne State University, teaching clinical pathology. With 16 years experience in Internal medicine, Ann founded and coordinated care for the nutritional support service at a major specialty/referral hospital. She obtained her specialty certification in emergency and critical care in 2000, and is a founding member of the Academy of Internal Medicine of Veterinary Technicians, experienced in general practice, emergency and specialty medicine.

Great Resource for Pet Owner and Technician Alike

I've read dozens of books tailored for the consumer as references on companion animal nutrition. I find that most of them are written by poorly qualified authors, with minimal emphasis on current science. This book is the exception. It offers an excellent background in biochemistry necessary for an understanding of nutrition fundamentals. The writer uses language that is accessible to the lay-person, as long as they have at least a basic background in biology and chemistry. The first few chapters discuss the six basic nutrient categories, and basic points of their metabolism. The focus of the book is to instruct the reader on basic metabolism and nutritional needs during various lifestages. This book should be in the collection of any pet-nutrition enthusiast.

Written in 1950 with the atrocities of WWII fresh on the mind, this guidebook to a better life is just as applicable today as it was 58 years ago. I met Ruhiyyih Rabbani in the 1970's and was impressed by her frankness and wisdom. As I read this book I could hear her voice guiding her audience. She doesn't pull any punches. She tells it to you just how it is and puts life in perspective.
The book begins by pointing out the trouble with humanity and the dissatisfaction people as a whole feel with their lives and the world around them. She goes on to explain the nature of humanity and how we can find the road to happiness. As a doctor gives us a prescription to improve our physical health, Ruhiyyih Rabbani gives us the guidelines for improving our spiritual health. She covers Love and Marriage, Death, Work, Habit, Sorrow and Trial. Every reader can relate to her words. She then goes on to give us a brief overview of the lives and personalities of The B�b, Bah�'u'll�h and `Abdu'l-Bah�. Their trials and how they lived their lives serve as an inspiration to better ourselves. The last chapter sums it all up perfectly:
"World reform is personal reform. The old maxims, `water cannot rise above its own level,' `a chain is as strong as its weakest link,' are nothing but truth. If you do not like the conditions that surround you, if you want to see changes in society, begin on yourself. This is something ready to hand, always under your own eye, and which, ninety-nine times out of a hundred, badly needs overhauling! For it stands to reason that if you are better the world will be better; there will be that much more gold in the ore of humanity, because one of its components will be of a finer caliber."
This book gives us the tools, in clear and simple terms, of how to improve our character and become happy human beings. If each person could take even one aspect of this book and apply it to their life, the world would be a much better place to live in.

To me this series is like the classic treasure/adventure stories from decades past (particularly Indiana Jones), and so I really enjoy a plot line that doesn't seem to be very common among web comics today (at least for those I've seen thus far). This book saved my bacon. I had a week to write a lit review paper for my PhD program and until I read the sample I didn't even know what a literature review paper was. The author does a great job in breaking it down into an easy to follow method. Everything from how to organize your paper to how to compose the topic sentence, body and conclusions for each paragraph. I'm almost done reading the book and feel so much more confident that I can do this. Just wish there was an audio companion. Already told all my classmates about the book. Thanks Alison!

Wow! I have only read a few of the sections in this text and have already found it significantly more helpful than any other book I have purchased so far. I was really struggling with structuring my literature review, but this text offers great insight on organizing the material and flowing between paragraphs. Definitely worth the $3.99.
